Hotel Rooms for Showstoppers Competition (Mini, Petite & Junior Lines)

For those of you looking for a place to stay in the cities during the Showstoppers Dance Competition, we have reserved a block of hotel rooms at Best Western Normandy Inn & Suites in Minneapolis for April 9th through the 11th. You must call to reserve your room before Friday, March 19th, and when you call you must mention you are with the “Elite Dance block”. If you do not call to reserve a room by March 19th, the available rooms within our block will return to the availability of the public. To make your reservation or if you have any other questions about cancellations or upgrades etc., please call 1-800-372-3131 or 612-370-1400.      

Please remember we do not find out what day or time the dancers dance until the week prior to the competition. As with last year, we will reserve a block of rooms at a hotel in the vicinity of the competition. We do this to help families out but please do not feel you have to stay at the same hotel.

Competition Fees

Competition fees have been charged to your accounts. $38 per person/per group dance, $55 per person/per duet, $90 per solo. These fees must be paid no later than Thursday, February 4th.

 The Ultimate Talent Connection

This is a local dance competition that will be held March 13th at the Superior High School. The deadline for registration is Feb. 19th. Solo fees are $18. Any competition soloists that have finished their solos and would like to compete should call to pay or come to the office with your payment.

Costume Fitting

Juniors & Itty Bitty Line
We will be holding a costume fitting for Saturday, February 13th at 10am for our Itty Bitty and Junior lines. It is mandatory for dancers to attend this fitting. Our seamstress will be there to make alterations if needed. 

Upcoming Performances
Please be aware that performance at the following events are mandatory for all competition teams. 

Dancing for a Cure
The Dancing for a Cure event will be held on Sunday, February 28th at the Black Bear Casino Otter Creek Convention Center. It is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM. 

UMD Dance Show
UMD Dance Show is scheduled for Saturday March 27th. Doors will open for spectators at 2pm and the show will begin at 3pm.

Winter Break Classes In Session for Competitors

The Juniors, Petites and Itty Bitty Lines will still have class over winter break to ensure that we will all be ready for upcoming performances and competitions.

Petites/Itty Bitty-
Thurs. Feb. 18th 5-7pm. 

Costume/Clothing Crystals
We will soon be ordering crystals for costumes. If you would like us to order some for your own use as well, please stop by the office to do so. We are able to order them in numerous sizes and colors, and we do have size and color charts available to look at. Prices may vary depending on the size or color. Ordering deadline will be Thursday February 4th. Once costumes/crystals are in we will have a sample of a costume for crystaling specifications. It is the responsibility of the parents and students to crystal their costumes.
Charges for cyrstals and costume balance are due Thursday February 18th. 

Clean Up Time !
Its that time of the season… cleaning up dances! Which also calls for… extra practice time! Extra practices are MANDATORY.
Juniors - Sunday Feb. 7th 1-4pm. Bring a lunch and LOTS of water. Proper attires must be worn.
Petites - Saturday Feb. 13th 11am-1:30pm. Bring a lunch and LOTS of water. Proper attire must be worn. 

Statements
With this newsletter is your statement with charges for the first competition fees. Fees are due by February 4th.
