At Elite Dance Productions all class levels, beginner through advanced
dancers, will be encouraged, motivated and challenged by EDP instructors
and staff. All dancers will develop knowledge of dance disciplines of
their choice or level of commitment. Dancers get to choose which classes
are of best interest to them and Elite Dance Productions professional
staff will place dancers in the appropriate level according to individual
ability and age.
Mommy
& Me - for ages 2-3
These classes are great for mothers and children to attend. What's better
than experiencing with your child their first dance class? This class
also offers a great opportunity for instructors to establish the teacher/student
roles for continuing classes comfortably as they become older.
Ages
3-5 Combo Class I - Creative Movement ~ Ballet ~ Tap
Children will learn pre-primary grade ballet and tap exercises; along
with an introduction to structure and dance classroom manners. More
important for this class, is allowing children to move freely and develop
a love for the art of dance, in a fun and encouraging atmosphere by
instructors, parents/guardians, and peers.
Ages
5-7 Combo Class II - Ballet ~ Tap ~ Pre-Jazz
Children will be introduced to basic ballet, tap and pre-jazz disciplines.
Basic vocabulary/terminology and body positions will be taught and remembered
through basic barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development
on lessons learned in combo class I.
Classical
Ballet Technique - Grades I, II, III and higher
These classes offer a strong focus on traditional and current ballet
disciplines in technique, vocabulary, terminology and movement to classical
ballet music. Dancers will learn barre work, center floor work and across
the floor combinations in all grades. Dancers will be placed in appropriate
grades based on instructor's recommendation according to individual
level of ability.
Jazz
- Hip/Hop - Levels I, II, III and higher
These classes offer a strong focus on traditional and current jazz/modern
disciplines in technique, vocabulary, terminology, stretch and strength
training. These classes will be wrapped up with street style or video
hop/hop movement to the latest pop chart hits or hip/hop music (all
age appropriate). Dancers will be placed accordingly, based on individual
level of ability.
Modern
- Levels II, III
Theses classes offer a strong focus on modern technique and movement
beyond technicalities. Dancers develop more on body awareness and alignment
while moving "outside the box". A creative, mature and open
mind is a must for this class! Placement is determined by instructor's
discretion.
Lyrical/Jazz
Progressions - Levels I, II, III
These classes focus on strong techniques in center and across the floor
combinations. Combined movement of ballet, jazz and modern choreography
is danced to inspirational and meaning full music. Placement is determined
by instructor's discretion.
Tap
- Levels I, II, III and higher
These classes coordinate variations of tap disciplines. Focus on developing
stronger, more challenging tap sounds, vocabulary, terminology and movement
of feet with body, in center and across the floor combinations to various
music of choice. Dancers placed according to level of ability.
Adult
Jazz and Modern - Beginner Level (no experience necessary)
Beginner classes introduce Jazz and Modern Techniques focusing on center
and across the floor combinations to various styles of music.
Adult
Advanced Jazz/Hip-Hop - Experienced Level in Jazz and Modern
This class is for the experienced dancers who may have competed or had
a serious level of commitment to dance and still want to continue dancing.
This class focuses on movement in strong techniques of Jazz/Modern and
Hip-Hop style combinations at center and across the floor combinations
to various styles of music.
Dance
Line/Dance Team -
This class focuses on training student's jazz technique, basic vocabulary,
strength and flexibility required for today's Jr. High and High School
dance teams. Dancers will learn routines in jazz/funk, pom and novelty.
Dancers will be stressed on the importance of team work and individual
roles once on a team.
Cheerleading/Pom
Team -
This class focuses on original cheer chants and motions together. Cheerleaders
will develop dance skills, strength for lifts and flexibility. Cheerleaders
will learn cheer combinations and fun pom with cheer routines. Cheerleaders
will be stressed on the importance of team work and individual roles
once on a team.
Choreography
and Audition Preparation Classes
These classes are only for the more serious dancer and will be instructed
in semesters. Must complete semester I to continue to semester II. For
more information contact EDP, certain requirements must be met for admittance
to classes.
