Policies
DANCE CLASS ATTIRE:
All students need to wear proper dance attire to class. At no time can a student wear jeans to class. Leotard and tights are to be worn to ballet classes and proper shoes must be worn for each class.
Shoes and proper dance attire can be purchased through EDP at a very reasonable rate or at other stores during the year. However, shoes are to be bought at EDP for the end of year recital to ensure all uniforms are the same. Orders will be put in at the end of every week. A complete list of shoes and attire prices for classes will be posted at the dance center.
Note: All logo dance attire must be paid in advance before ordering.
INSURANCE:
Elite Dance Productions does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policies and if injury occurs it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
SNOW OR BAD WEATHER:
If classes are canceled due to school closings out side of scheduled closings please call Elite Dance Productions 2 hours before classes begin for a recorded message. Because roads are sometimes clear into the evening classes may or may not be cancel. Classes will be made up on a scheduled date if cancel. and all dancers are required to be there.
HOLIDAYS:
Holidays will generally follow school Winter and Summer breaks Scheduled in December and April. Holiday dates will be posted and will be given to your child prior to holiday periods included in monthly newsletters. Other cancellations due to competitions or other out of town events will also be posted in advance and stated in monthly newsletters.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is taken at the beginning of each class. Good attendance is imperative, as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class, and center can not jeopardize its responsibilities to the rest of class for one student. Please make every effort to have your child at every class.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Dancers are expected to be at class on time and prepared in proper dance attire. Instructors reserve the right to dismiss any dancer from class whose attitude is unsatisfactory. Here at Elite Dance Productions we promote all dancers to treat each other with respect, support and encouragement.
CLASS OBSERVATION:
Class observation will be limited to viewing windows only. This rule is in place so students training and classes go uninterrupted. If parents want pictures of class please ask in advance for instructors approval, pictures are to be taken in a timely manner and persons must leave the room after the task is finished.
RECITAL:
The recital will be held at the end of each year. Dates of this event will be advertised at a later date and will be posted. It is up to parents and guardians to make sure they do not schedule any other events during this time that may interrupt dancers performance dates. Ticket prices will be advertised at a later date. Elite Dance Productions is attentively looking into May or June to hold there annual recital and may change in following years.
RECITAL COSTUMES:
Elite Dance Productions tries to keep all costume fees at a reasonable price, costume prices vary for each class. All dancers are required to purchase a costume for each dance in the recital. Costumes must be paid in full before they will be ordered and by cut off date or a costume will not be ordered. At no time are costume fees refundable. You will receive information on costume pricing and payment due dates in October.
VIDEO TAPING DURING THE RECITAL:
Video taping during the recital is not allowed. The recital will be taped using professional equipment, and copies will be available for purchase at a reasonable price we do this to be sure everyone gets to relax and enjoy the show and not have to maneuver around people who are video taping. Still pictures are allowed; however we ask that you refrain from flash photography due to injury it can cause dancers. Pictures can be taken on stage following the recital.
OTHER:
- No gum chewing in any class.
- Hair must be secured up off of neck and face in all classes.
- Dancers are to be picked up promptly following classes and at no time are allowed to leave the facility to go shopping in the area without parent/guardian.
- Please have water bottle handy for small drink breaks. It will be needed and is necessary for dancers to stay hydrated throughout class. Please use washrooms before class.
REFUNDS/PAYMENT INFORMATION
All tuition, costume, and special event fees are non-refundable and tuition is not prorated for reasons previously stated on our Tuition & Fees page.
STATEMENTS
Statements will be sent electronically via e-mail. If you have not yet given us your e-mail or if your e-mail changes, please stop by the office to update your account. Paper statements will only go out if you do not have an e-mail account. It is your responsibility to know if you owe the studio so be sure you are checking your account often. Statements for monthly tuition will not be sent to those people who have auto. withdrawal from their account.
LOST & FOUND
A Lost and Found basket is located in the closet next to the soda machine. We will put items that are left after class in the basket so be sure to check there if you are missing anything.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please discuss them with Directors when it does not interfere with class. We are always interested in improving our dance education programs and every suggestion will be taken into consideration.
